After picking, this white tea is dried in the sun and processed in a system that also requires care and precision. The young leaves, which are clear as silver or white, are selected as the best and then packaged and marketed.
"Now the price is around Rp 5 million per kilo," said Achmedi to the media, a few days ago.
In China, the secrets of the withering process of white tea vary from region to region. As in the Fujian area which relies on climatic conditions and traditions of each family, the highest grade white tea (superme grade) is made from only selected tea leaf buds.
